UFC Fight Night 48 post-fight facts: Michael Bisping moves up UFC’s all-time KO list

UFC Fight Night 48 took place Saturday at The Venetian Macau’s CotaiArena, and in the UFC Fight Pass-aired headliner, Michael Bisping (25-6 MMA, 15-6 UFC) overwhelmed Cung Le (9-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC) with strikes for a fourth-round stoppage in Macau.

“The Count” has been with the UFC longer than most, and his resume reflects many accomplishments. His TKO finish of Le moved the Englishman up the all-time wins, knockouts and significant strikes landed categories.

General

Bisping, Tyron Woodley, Yuta Sasaki and Alberto Mina earned $50,000 UFC Fight Night 48 fight-night bonuses.

UFC Fight Night 48 drew an announced attendance of 7,022. No live gate was announced for the event.

Betting favorites went 7-3 on the card.

Total fight time for the 10-bout card was 1:42:11.

Main card

Bisping earned the 15th victory of his UFC career, the most of any fighter in organizational history without competing in a championship bout.

Bisping’s 15 UFC victories are the most by any winner from “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show.

Bisping recorded his 11th UFC middleweight victory and tied Nate Marquardt for the fourth most wins in divisional history behind Anderson Silva (13), Yushin Okami (13) and Chris Leben (12).

Bisping has earned nine UFC knockout victories, tied for the fourth most in UFC history behind Silva (11), Vitor Belfort (10) and Chuck Liddell (10).

Bisping’s six finishes in UFC middleweight competition are tied for the fourth most in divisional history behind Silva (11), Leben (nine) and Marquardt (seven).

Bisping has scored five UFC knockdowns from the clinch, the second most in company history behind Silva (seven).

Le has suffered all three of his career losses by knockout.

Dong Hyun Kim (19-3-1 MMA, 10-3 UFC) has suffered all three of his career losses by knockout.

Lipeng Zhang (8-7-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has earned both of his UFC victories by decision.

Brendan O’Reilly (5-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) had his six-fight undefeated streak (5-0 with one no-contest) snapped and suffered the first loss of his professional career.

Guangyou Ning (4-2-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) earned the first decision victory of his career.

Jiaping Yang (6-4-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) suffered the first decision loss of his career.

Preliminary card

Sai earned the first decision victory of his career.

Danny Mitchell (14-6-1 MMA, 0-2 UFC) has suffered both of his UFC losses by decision.

Alberto Mina (11-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has earned all 11 of his career victories by submission or knockout.

Shinsho Anzai (8-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) suffered the first knockout loss of his career.

Yuta Sasaki (18-1-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) extended his career-high winning streak to 12 fights.

Sasaki has earned his past six victories by submission or knockout.

Roland Delorme (9-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) extended his career-high losing streak to three fights. He has recorded just one victory in his past four UFC bouts overall.

Delorme suffered the first submission loss of his career.

Anying Wang (2-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) suffered the first submission loss of his career.

Royston Wee (4-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has earned both of his UFC victories by decision.

Zhuikui Yao (1-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) suffered the first decision loss of his career.

Milana Dudieva (11-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) earned her first decision victory since Dec. 17, 2010 – a span of 1,345 days (more than three years) and seven fights.

Elizabeth Phillips (4-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) has suffered both of her UFC losses by split decision.
